2010 Grant Guidelines

About Us
The King William Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1967. Our mission is to preserve and maintain the residential nature and support preservation of historic structures of the King William Neighborhood and the diversity of its people; to intercede on behalf of the neighborhood on issues affecting the community by all civic avenues available including advocating for residential status with the city; and to improve quality of life by building community and promoting educational, cultural and recreational pursuits and activities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The King William Association prefers to award grants to nonprofit organizations that are recognized as public charities by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • The area of primary interest for grant awards is Youth Arts and Education serving the King William neighborhood and surrounding community.
  • Organizations previously awarded grants by the King William Association may only apply for new grants if they have satisfactorily submitted the required interim evaluation report.

Grant Program Timeline

  • Completed 2010 Grant Application forms must be submitted to the King William Association office by Friday, June 25, 2010.
  • Our Finance Committee and Board of Directors will review applications in July 2010.
  • Our Board of Directors will make final grant award decisions in August 2010.
  • Grant award notifications will be mailed in September 2010.
  • Grant award presentations will be held at our Fall Social on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.

Application Guidelines

  • Complete the Grant Application form on 8.5” x 11” white copy paper with black ink only.
  • On the narrative, please use 12-point Times New Roman font, 1” margins on all sides, single-spaced, one-sided print. Do not exceed 3 pages.
  • Do not bind, tape, or staple applications and attachments. Use of paperclips is permitted.
  • Submit one copy only of the Grant Application form and required attachments.

Grant Application Checklist

  • Grant Application form (must be signed).
  • Narrative (3 pages maximum).
  • Budget for requested program or project, including projected expenses and all projected sources of revenue.
  • Operating budget from current fiscal year.
  • Board of Directors list.
  • 501(c)(3) determination letter, if applicable.
